On October 18, 2024, with a streaming release on October 25, 2024, Ruthless Films released 'No One Asked You', which has earned predominantly positive reviews from critics and a score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. In the documentary, "Comedian, disrupter extraordinaire Lizz Winstead (co-creator of The Daily Show) and Abortion Access Front, her team of activists crisscross the U.S. to support abortion clinic staff and bust stigma. Pop culture icons and next-gen comics fuel this six-year road film activating small-town folks to rebuild vandalized clinics, exposing wrongdoer politicians, domestic terrorists, and media neglect as the race to the bottom ensues. A bold call to action reminds us that when the patriarchy burns down, joy will prevail." Read the full review round-up below.
Avi Offer of NYC Movie Guru says, "No One Asked You mostly focuses their tour without stepping back to debate the complex issue of abortion with depth and different perspectives. If you're anti-abortion, this isn't the documentary that will change your mind. However, it will raise your awareness about the deception of CPCs and how they're legally allowed to continue to operate. At a running time of 1 hour and 35 minutes, No One Asked You is provocative and timely, but not fair and balanced enough."
Alan French of Sunshine State Cineplex notes, "When the stakes are this high, there are no easy jobs protecting civil liberties. No One Asked You clarifies that this is the battle at stake." Adding, "Ruth Leitman returns to the director’s chair for her first feature since 2010. She proves that she can handle the dichotomy of tones. Keeping the pace up, even when the more dramatic elements of the movie are crafted, is an important balance to juggle. There are a lot of stories to cut between, and while the structure feels a little off, No One Asked You delivers the most crucial information well. Perhaps most important is the discussion on Pregnancy Resource Centers, which continue to mislead and spread disinformation."
Bill Arceneaux of Moviegoing with Bill praises the film, stating, "This film isn’t just another entry in the progressive politics genre of documentary filmmaking. It’s truly special - a road trip of grand proportion."
